We’ve had a makeover!

Welcome to the new and improved Katelyn Rose Photography! I’m so excited to show off all the changes I’ve made!

Back in December, I decided to completely rebrand KRP. I had a vision that I wanted to come alive for 2019 and a goal to take my business to the next level. In the fall, I really came into my own with my business. For the first time I felt like I had found myself in my work and I wanted my brand to represent that. Most probably don’t know, but I have a background in design work so naturally I was all about getting down to business to design the perfect brand.

This was a HUGE undertaking but very well worth the emotional roller coaster I felt like I was on. This started by designing a website, on a completely different platform only to then, with the encouragement of my mentor, move my entire website to a platform I had never used before. Talk about nerve wracking! Fast forward to the release of my first website at the beginning on the new year, I hated it. I mean, it was probably fine and I could’ve left it alone but it wasn’t my vision. It wasn’t the feel I was going for and I didn’t want t. If you’re a creative person, you know how disappointing it can be to pour your heart into something only to hate it later. I decided to outsource my website. With two young kids and all of the other parts of my business I needed to focus on, I had to let that go. Jasmine from from Jasmine Janae Design created the most beautiful website that I pretty much show off to everyone. It’s a website I am so proud of and has brought my vision alive. She’s pretty much a rock star and I can’t thank her enough. She brought to life the combination of simple and classy with a little bit of moodiness and edge. It’s absolutely perfect!

What’s new to KRP?

New Logo!

I have a new logo! One that is very near and dear to me. You’ll notice a dandelion in my logo. Dandelions have become a sort of symbol in my life. It started with a tattoo on my forearm that I’ve had for years now. I had a lot of people ask me in the beginning, “why would you get a weed tattooed on your arm?” Clearly they have never made a wish on a dandelion as a child before. I don’t associate dandelions as being a “weed.” The thing about them is that they are such a strong part of youth. Every child can’t resist them. They are fascinating and interactive and just so perfectly fun. Then we grow up and dandelions become less interesting. You walk by them all the time and never stop to actually blow on one. You remember how fun it was but you’re too busy now. Something as simple as a dandelion reminds us that there is joy in youth that ought to be cherished and not lost when we’re older. What does this have to do with my business? Everything! When you’re with me, I want you to remember how fun life is, how much you can enjoy the simple things in life and what it feels like to laugh so hard your stomach aches. Your time with me is meant to be all about you. It’s meant to take you out of reality for a little bit and away from the everyday hustle of life. So when you see my logo, let it be a reminder to chancel your youth and carry that into your day.

New Style!

You may have noticed my editing style has changed a bit. Don’t fret! I can still create those dreamy, light and airy photos but I am also drifting more towards images that tell a story with a little bit more moodiness. I’ve learned that these images really inflect emotion. They give people all the feels and they are truly beautiful. You may also notice a less posed approach to your sessions. I will still gather your traditional, everyone look at me and smile images but we will then break off into a more candid approach. I will use prompts and fun games that will create more natural and genuine reactions. You might feel a little silly, but I promise you will love the outcome!

New Gear!

This may be my absolute most exciting part of this year. All new gear from my camera to my lenses! This means I am able to take your images to the next level and offer more types of sessions, including in home lifestyle sessions!

I’m incredibly stoked about these new changes and I’m looking forward to sharing them with you all. Take a look around the new site, let me know what you think AND enjoy a $50 print credit with your session! Contact me here to book your session and snag yours!
